Kigetsu uses a secondary game board called the "Battlefield".
The players put their counters on it in order to fight and challenge each other. Once the counters are set, they transform into "moon-counters" under the ultraviolet light. The moon-counters determine the strenght of the players who participate : this is the "Ki-Getsu", the "energy of the moons", the celestial power which is invoked by the fighting heroes on the earth. Battles are symbolic, and must be seen in terms of energy and counter-energy. They create a mystic atmosphere, but also offer tactical possibilities. So, just like martial artists, the players must take advantage of the energy they can see and manipulate. Click on the picture on the left to have an overview of the game mechanism. |
